The job

The farm wanted off propane without replacing a dryer that works.

The SCW unit sits beside the dryer, and one duct carries the heat across.

The duct runs from the unit up and over to the dryer.

What we built

  • A grain dryer heat source with our chain grate stoker.
  • Firebox, stoker and controls built in our shop in Headingley, Manitoba.
  • A duct from the unit into the dryer.

The result

The tower dryer runs on wood pellets instead of propane, at about half the drying fuel cost.
