Grants & tax credits
Grants and tax credits for biomass heat
About half the systems we sell are paid for in part by a grant or a tax credit. These are the main programs our customers use. We checked each one against its official page in November 2026.
Timing matters
Most Canadian programs want you registered before you order equipment or start work. Invoices from before that date usually don’t count. The US REAP program now works the other way: the system has to be built and running before you apply. Talk to us before you sign anything, and we’ll plan the order around the program.
The programs
Where the money comes from

Grants (up to $500,000 for a renewable energy system) and loan guarantees for farms and rural small businesses. Biomass is an eligible energy source.
Who: Agricultural producers and rural small businesses
Timing: Under the October 2026 rule, the system must be built and running before you apply. USDA is not taking grant applications right now; loan guarantees are still open
Ontario, the Prairies, BC, the Maritimes and US states
Provincial, state and utility programs open and close every year. Tell us where your project is and we’ll tell you what’s open right now.
How we help
We do the equipment side of the paperwork
Sizing and quote
We size the system for your building and give you the quote and spec sheets the application asks for.
Fuel and savings numbers
Most programs want to know what you burn now and what you’ll save. We work that out with you.
Order timing
We schedule your order around the program’s approval, so you don’t lose the money on a technicality.
Programs change. This page is a starting point, not tax or legal advice. Check the program’s own page, or ask your accountant, before you count on the money. Last checked: November 2026.
Find out what you qualify for
