What we built
- One 10 million BTU boiler with our chain grate stoker, which handles wet and mixed chips without jamming.
- Heat for the colony's hog and poultry barns, homes and shops.
- Firebox, stoker and controls built in our shop in Headingley, Manitoba.
- Controls with remote monitoring, so we can see how it runs from our shop.
The result
The colony heats with wood chips instead of propane. Heating cost is about 50% lower.
