The job
Grain drying burns a lot of fuel in a short season. This farm ran its dryer on propane.
They kept the dryer they had. We set an SCW biomass system next to it, and the heat goes through a duct straight into the dryer.

On the truck, ready for the farm.

The duct that carries heat into the dryer.
What we built
- A 10 million BTU biomass heat source with our chain grate stoker.
- Ductwork into the farm’s existing grain dryer.
- Controls built in our shop, with remote monitoring.
“We kept our dryer and dropped propane. Fuel cost for drying is about half what it was.”

The result
Drying fuel cost is about 50% lower than it was on propane.
