The job
Zyromski grows flowers and plants in Quebec. Their greenhouses need a lot of heat, so we built one of our larger systems: 18 million BTU.
The system left our shop in Headingley on a flatbed in October 2024.

Loaded at our shop in Headingley, October 2024.

Install day: the boiler vessel goes in first.
Install day
On site, a crane lifted the boiler vessel in, still wrapped from the trip. Then it swung the chain grate stoker over the building and set it in place.
- Boiler and chain grate stoker, 18 million BTU.
- Incline auger feeding wood chips to the stoker.
- Controls built in our shop, with remote monitoring.
The fire
Wood chips burning evenly across the chain grate. The grate keeps moving, so ash comes off the end on its own.

Looking into the firebox while it runs.
“The crane day went smooth, and it has run two winters without fuss. Our heating cost is about half what it was.”

The result
It has run through two Quebec winters on wood chips. Heating cost is about 50% lower than before.
